5 labels you will always find in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan`s wardrobe

If there’s one word that could best explain Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s appeal, it would be glamorous. While the star likes dialling up the drama on the red carpet and at wedding ceremonies, her everyday style comprises of smart casuals. In an interview, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's stylist, Aastha Sharma revealed, “Aishwarya has her own personality. She has been an icon for years, and is always appropriately dressed, so it's very easy for me as a stylist. I don't have to convince her to do anything—if it's an international red carpet event, we go all out because she is representing a brand and herself—it's almost a form of art. Back home, she favours Indian designers and has a more understated sense of style.” The star has long had her favourite brands–from Sabyasachi to Elie Saab—on rotation for various occasions. Among others, these five brands have become synonymous with her signature style; scroll down to take a closer peek.

Sabyasachi

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s association with designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is an old (and exciting one). Whether she is attending a wedding or walking the red-carpet, she is often seen in a slew of kurtas and saris from his label. In 2010, the actor traded her OTT gowns in favour of a sheer Sabyasachi sari at the Cannes Film Festival that made for a winning pick. For Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's wedding celebrations in Mumbai on December 12, 2018, she turned heads in an opulent red and gold handwoven Benarasi silk sari that featured gold motifs all over.

Elie Saab

For many of her red carpet outings, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s gravitates towards Elie Saab’s creations. The Lebanese designer is well-known for his larger-than-life couture signature and the actor never misses a chance to step out in his pieces. Case in point: her looks from the Cannes Film Festival. 2009 marked the beginning of her love affair with Elie Saab, with a muted lavender number claiming love at first sight for the star and then there was no looking back. In 2016, the star turned heads in a nude sleeveless gown that featured intricate work.

Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla are the Bachchan family's go-to couturiers and it's obvious that a large part of Aishwarya's wardrobe is filled with their creations. Some noteworthy looks include a heavily embroidered ivory sari and jacket seen on the star for the AmFAR charity party at Cannes Film Festival and another ivory anarkali covered in mirror work.

Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra’s designs have been a favourite among  Bollywood's leading ladies and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is no exception. A quick browse through her Indian wear looks will make it clear that the label's high-shine lehengas, slinky blouses and intricate embroideries perfectly fall in line with the star's personal aesthetic. Some of her standout Manish Malhotra looks include the green embroidered anarkali she wore for a Diwali party and the black kurta and lehenga set she picked for Bipasha Basu's reception in Mumbai.

Ralph & Russo

Another couture label you will find often in her wardrobe is Ralph & Russo. Celebrities ranging from Beyoncé, Angelina Jolie to Sonam Kapoor Ahuja have also found sartorial perfection in the label's creations. Their dramatic gowns have been a favourite of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s. Remember the red gown she wore to the Cannes Film Festival? “Aishwarya and Sonam have strong personalities and are aware of the image they want to convey. Their appearances in Ralph & Russo Couture have elements of my vision in fashion. They really personify the brand's core values: elegance, romance and timelessness,” creative director Tamara Ralph told Vogue in an interview.
